Domestic: Columbia Valley, Washington, USA
Encompassing 570,000 acres, the Horse Heaven Hills AVA stretches along with the Columbia River in South Central Washington. The combo of up-river and sun-sopping wet canopies imparts full fruit flavors and fine, smooth tannins at the resulting wines.
This wine has classic wealthy, blackberry aromas which can be characteristic of the Horse Heaven Hills appellation. The dark berries continue on to the palate, with some vanilla notes from the French oak, and refined tannins at the finish.
